JANUARY 2016
With regret we have to announce that the Wool Directory is closing. Our initial funding ended three years ago and the Directory has been run on a voluntary basis since then. This has become unsustainable and the Directory will not be taking any new listings from now on. The website will close at the beginning of April 2016 when the present web hosting contract ends.
We would like to thank everyone who has added their details to the listings and everyone who has used the Directory. Thank you all for your support.
Claire Crompton

Welcome to the Wool Directory

connecting British wool producers to wool users

BRITISH FLEECE & YARN STRAIGHT FROM THE FARM

What is the Wool Directory?
A new free online database to connect UK wool producers to wool users keen to source and support British wool.

Who is listed on the Wool Directory?
UK wool producers -  market your British fleece or yarn to a wide audience of potential buyers and connect with others in the wool supply chain.

Wool processors - market your services to wool producers.

Textile makers, textile artists, wool product manufacturers - an easy way to promote your products and share information, to connect to wool producers, and to source local wool.

Who can use the Wool Directory?
The directory is a freely accessible database and you do not have to register or join to access the information. We list wool producers who have fleece and yarn, and wool users who make products from British wool. We also list people offering workshops and courses in textile techniques using wool. Please see our Policies and Terms page for more details on how to use the Wool Directory.

The Wool Directory is initiated by the Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World in collaboration with Claire Crompton of Give Fleece A Chance.
